Episode 6: Chicken Corn Chowder

My humans love HelloFresh meal kits. They like to cook them together as a dinner-date night. But Mom is so busy with work that I decided to take over and treat them to dinner.

Here’s the link to the HelloFresh recipe that I made for the humans: Creamy Chicken & Bacon Chowder Recipe | HelloFresh.

And here’s my recipe!

Pup-Friendly Chicken Corn Chowder

Recipe by Pan Martin

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 Tbsp plain nonfat yogurt

  • 1 Tbsp pumpkin purée (unsweetened, plain)

  • 1/4 cup shredded cooked chicken (no seasoning)

  • 1 slice cooked turkey bacon, crumbled

  • 1/4 cup diced carrots, cooked until soft

  • 1 Tbsp corn kernels, plain, no salt/butter

  • ¼ cup diced potatoes, peeled and cooked until soft

  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped (garnish – parsley is dog-friendly!)

Directions

  • Prepare the base: In a small saucepan: combine water, pumpkin purée, and yogurt. Stir until smooth and gently warm (do not boil).
  • Add the veggies: Stir in carrots, corn, and potatoes. Let simmer lightly until everything is tender and well combined.
  • Add protein: Mix in shredded chicken and crumbled turkey bacon. Stir just until heated through.
  • Serve it up: Pour into your pup’s bowl.
  • Garnish: Sprinkle with a pinch of parsley.
  • Cool before serving: Make sure chowder is lukewarm (not hot!) before letting your pup dig in.

Notes

  • This chowder is meant as a fun, occasional treat, not a full meal replacement. Always check with your vet before introducing new ingredients.
